About Us

Kyoga Foundation Ltd is a not- for-profit local NGO that has been working since 1997 to promote social welfare and economic empowerment in Uganda. The Foundation actively engages in community outreach programs, focusing on vulnerable groups.

The core aspect of Kyoga Foundation’s work is providing business training to enhance self-reliance among indigent women and girls, offering vocational training in the hospitality sector for women and girls, providing health care support for young children and training in culture and human rights for women empowerment. Kyoga Foundation’s geographical focus is countrywide.

Kyoga Foundation Ltd. is made up of a Board of Directors and staff. The Board is responsible for governance, strategic oversight, hiring staff, developing and approving budgets, representing the NGO, and fundraising. The staff are responsible for the day-to-day management of the organization and ensuring it aligns with the organization's mission. The staff include the Secretary, the Administrator and the Program Assistant. The Secretary performs essential administrative duties and communicates with the Board of Directors. The Administrator does the organization’s accounting, finance and administration and the program assistant supports the implementation of Kyoga Foundation’s projects.

Our Objectives

Equipping women with social skills: Kyoga Foundation aims to help women and girls to develop crucial social and interpersonal skills for success in the workplace and in life. This is key for their own self – reliance.

Improving the lives of young women and their families by providing vocational training. The foundation seeks to equip women with the means to secure employment and improve their economic standing.

Training change agents: The foundation aims to empower women to become agents of positive change within their families and communities, contributing to broader social and economic development.

Developing women of integrity in all their engagement with women and girls, the foundation makes sure to impart an awakening in the women for the need to grow in virtue and develop honorable character with the aim of being women of integrity.

Kyoga Foundation has the potential to significantly contribute to society by empowering women and girls, fostering self-reliance, and addressing community needs in Uganda. The Foundation’s focus on skilling, community outreach, and addressing the root causes of social issues like poverty positions it is a potential agent of positive change.

In the area of Women and Girls Empowerment, and in line with its mission, Kyoga Foundation can provide resources, support, and opportunities. These include initiatives in education, climate change mitigation, food systems transformation, advocacy, and empowering specific initiatives.
