Teemba Study Centre
Cultural get- togethers
These are aimed at enhancing unity in diversity. Uganda is a multicultural country. It is home to over 56 different ethnic groups, each with its own unique language, customs and traditions. This diversity is a key aspect of Uganda’s identity and cultural richness. Teemba Study centre welcomes people from all these ethnic groups as well as well as people from different countries and races than those from Uganda.
Through cultural get-togethers, these people get to know about each other and about the different cultures that make them unique and enriching to our world. These get – togethers take the form of talks on the cultural practices of the various cultures represented by the attendees. For example presentations on their traditional food, dress, dances, harvest practices, marriage ceremonies and what all these aspects of culture signify to the people of the culture. The aim of this activity is to help the girls gain in knowledge about other cultures, appreciate the differences and learn from each other.
